Engineers at our LaGrange, Georgia plant provide leadership and execution in solving daily safety, productivity, cost and quality issues to meet business objectives. In addition, engineers establish continuous improvement plans to address chronic longer-term issues and advance the capability of the assets. As a Process Engineer, you’ll work cross functionally with the Staff Research & Engineering teams to develop and implement new products or assets as well as report to a platform asset leader and receive direction in the form of general project objectives.
In this role, you will:
Provide support and guidance to team members and Process Engineers in high-speed nonwovens production including web handling, polymer extrusion through film casting and/or melt spinning, web lamination, and centerline process and systems
Create strategies for plant process improvements to keep KPIs on target and aligned with company objectives
Keep centerline system up to date and provide monthly reports for analysis in Quality meetings
Work collaboratively within the technical team structure supporting trial work, capital, and daily operations to the purpose of expanding our innovation capability, while providing flexibility and personal/organizational sensitivity
Support plant personnel with problem solving and troubleshooting of all the assets in the plant
Support new machine startups and re-build projects for the plant and other plants in the sector as well as Roswell researchers
Creation and execution of trials to support innovative solutions at engineering and customer level
Create and manage DTKs (Documented Technical Knowledge) from other plants in the sector and establish improved standards.
Develop and implement CI projects to reduce variation in their respective processes

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience, and continuing self-development
2+ years of experience in a variety of mill and staff assignments
Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team while providing task- oriented direction to others to complete projects within required timeframes
Demonstrated leadership in achieving results
Strong Excel skills and experience with root cause analysis
Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic)
Preferred Experience:
Lean manufacturing six sigma skills
