JOB SUMMARY

The Anode Operator is responsible for producing products in accordance with detailed manufacturing procedures. These procedures are of increased complexity, which includes weighing, sieving, blending, and compression processes. The operator is also accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines. The primary responsibility is for operating, disassembling, cleaning, and assembling equipment used during production. Also responsible to review and redline cleaning records, SOPs, and batch records.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under general direction, and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations along with Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

• Sets up and operates machinery for producing parts, tools and equipment.

• Inspects parts visually and dimensionally to assure conformance to requirements.

• Cleans and maintains machines as necessary.

• Troubleshoots and corrects simple manufacturing problems in a timely manner.

• Maintains supplies and calibration records for pertinent equipment.

• Notifies supervisor when machinery needs maintenance or repairs.

• Maintains currency on all quality and safety requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (FULL ANODE OPERATOR POSITION)

1. Electro-polish all needle types using anodes.

2. Responsible for start-up, monitoring, processing, troubleshooting, and maintaining of all anode finishing equipment.

3. Mix chemicals for blackening and blacken needles.

4. Process electro-polished needles through cleaning, siliconizing, and curing.

5. Responsible for performing weekly Preventative Maintenance.

6. Responsible for performing required attributes and variable testing of needles.

7. Follows all applicable aspects of the site Environmental Management System as it pertains to normal job duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (ATTRIBUTE AND VARIABLE TESTING ONLY)

• Responsible for performing required attributes and variable testing of needles.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work in team environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner.

2. Comply with all federally regulated programs.

3. Adhere to J& J environmental and safety policies and guidelines.

4. Comply with all job specific safety procedures and utilize PPE when necessary.

5. Comply with quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions.

6. Use microscope and scale as required.

7. Utilize applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV, etc.)

8. Consistently meet required work performance targets (RE's), if applicable

9. Support LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives.

10. Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care.

11. Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic documentation).

12. Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator.

13. Consistently meet required Training due date targets.

14. Assist process engineers and facilitators in trouble shooting and process improvement activities.

15. Support the Plant Diversity Process

16. Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

17. For those who supervise or lead a staff, they are responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

18. Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

19. Performs other duties assigned as neededEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

1. High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent skills, experience, or training.

2. Generally, Requires 2-4 Years Work Experience

3. Anode electro-polishing experience preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

1. Chemical safety training or general chemical knowledge preferred.

2. Computer knowledge is required: Associate must be able to perform all functions of the job by using CIM, and Ethicon computer systems.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.

4. Statistical and analytical problem solving.

5. Good math skills are required. Must be able to understand and apply those skills and have a competence
