Responsible for managing plant personnel to improve quality and outputs in a manufacturing operation in a safe work environment. The facilitator will also be accountable for aligning all respective departments to achieve business goals. This role has increased responsibility including, but not limited to, additional skills, multiple lines/products, diverse teams, etc. Under limited direction, responsible for managing all operations related to manufacturing, materials, facilities, distribution, engineering and maintenance to ensure smooth, continuous, cost effective and controlled manufacture of products in support of the business forecasts and inventory goals. Supervises experienced business enablers and/or entry individual contributors. Coordinates processes and assignments for the Manufacturing Assembly team and supports organizational objectives and business goals. Implements project terms to meet objectives and goals of the Manufacturing Assembly area. Ensures compliance with established processes for strategic plans and serves as a primary point of contact for junior team members.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Supervises individual contributors and is accountable for conducting effective performance management.
  • Assists with the coordination of Manufacturing Assembly processes and assignments to ensure the delivery of consistent work products.
  • Monitors day-to-day assembly line operations to ensure organizational standards for quality inspection, production control, inventory, and procurement.
  • Assists with setting up, operating, maintaining and solving Manufacturing Assembly line machinery/equipment at fixed workstation positions.
  • Ensures steady workflow and productivity and resolves operational decisions within the team. Responsible for managing operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within expected standards.
  • Capable of acting on behalf of the Manufacturing Manager. Accountability for results with proven track record.
  • Demonstrated business insight to know how business works and knowledgeable in current and future business developments

Qualifications

  • BS degree or equivalent in engineering, business, other technical degree, or equivalent experience, skills and training.

Required & Preferred Skills

  • Basic or advanced computer and database management skills required.
  • Organizational skills to balance priorities with workload.
  • Possess understanding of equipment Preventative Maintenance programs and their administration.
  • Possess understanding of equipment calibration programs and their administration.
  • Fundamental understanding and ability to direct technical resources in machine shop operations.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and manufacturing processes such as Just in Time (JIT), KANBAN, and Pull Systems.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial controls, including PLC’s and PC based operator interfaces.
  • Technical knowledge and or experience in electrical, mechanical and control systems to be able to direct resources for the investigation diagnosis and repair of equipment.
  • Knowledge of equipment control software in Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Statistical and analytical problem solving.
  • Position requires proven leadership skills in associate involvement and teamwork, initiative, creativity, assertiveness, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure achieving consistently high results in quality, efficiency, and compliance through individual and team efforts.
  • Self-motivated and capable of taking a lead position in completing duties in results-oriented work environment.
