This role is ideal for a senior-level mechanical engineer with deep technical expertise, hands-on prototyping ability, and a strong track record in complex mechanism design. As part of our Hardware Engineering team, you'll be at the forefront of delivering precision actuation systems, multi-axis assemblies, and advanced mechanical solutions that integrate smart technologies and robotics. You'll own the product lifecycle from concept through production and play a critical role in pushing the boundaries of automation, manufacturability, and serviceability. What You’ll Do - Lead engineering projects focused on complex mechanical assemblies—from concept through production release.
- Design precision mechanisms including multi-axis systems, gear trains, linkages, and actuators.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Assembly (DFA), and Service (DFS) to every stage of development.
- Prototype, test, and validate mechanical systems using motion simulation, analysis, and real-world builds.
- Drive root cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective design updates for both fielded and new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and manufacturing partners to ensure scalable and cost-effective implementation.
- Research and source precision components and materials, evaluate suppliers, and manage technical support through production.
- Produce high-quality engineering documentation, including CAD models, BOMs, assembly drawings, and release packages.
- Support installation, field service, and troubleshooting through detailed design knowledge and documentation.
What You Bring - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of mechanical design experience in product development and/or manufacturing.
- Mastery of 3D CAD modeling (Solid Edge preferred) and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Experience designing for injection molding, machining, casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Strong understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and motion control principles.
- Proficiency in motion simulation, FEA, and kinematic analysis tools.
- Familiarity with CNC machine tools, manual machining equipment, and 3D printing.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to create detailed engineering documentation, release packages, and BOMs.
- Experience sourcing precision components and managing vendors for complex manufacturing processes.
- Ability to apply cost-saving redesigns without compromising performance or reliability.
- Working knowledge of design control processes, particularly for systems with sophisticated mechanisms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical content clearly across teams.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
You’ll Excel If You: - Lead projects confidently and take full ownership of engineering outcomes.
- Thrive in a hands-on environment, from CAD modeling to prototyping and testing.
- Communicate clearly across disciplines and can explain technical details to any audience.
- Solve complex problems with a structured, analytical approach.
- Collaborate effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional teams while working independently.
- Constantly look for ways to improve product quality, design efficiency, and serviceability.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities while staying focused on long-term goals.
