Job Title: Director of Product and Operations

Experience Level: Mid-Senior

Job Location: Duluth, Georgia

Work Schedule: Hybrid: M-F (3 days in office + 2 days remote)

Salary Range: $165, 000 - $180, 000. Bonus Eligible.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

The Director of Product and Operations provides hands-on leadership and strategic direction, driving product strategy and innovation while overseeing operational execution. This role requires a dynamic leader who can balance high-level vision with tactical execution, ensuring that products align with business objectives and deliver maximum value to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Leadership:

  • Define and execute the product vision, roadmap, and strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution.
  • Align product initiatives with market needs, customer feedback, and emerging technology trends.

Hands-On Execution & Product Ownership:

  • Act as a Software Product Owner when needed, writing user stories, prioritizing backlogs, and defining product requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation and timely delivery of features.
  • Be a leader-doer, actively engaging in product execution while setting the strategic direction.

Operations & Execution:

  • Establish and refine product development and operational processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure smooth coordination across cross-functional teams, optimizing workflow and collaboration.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance agility, predictability, and efficiency in product execution.

Team Management & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, including Product Owners, Product Managers, Software Systems Architects, and Project Managers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Provide career growth opportunities and continuous learning for team members.

Stakeholder & Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support to align product development with business priorities.
  • Communicate product vision and progress effectively to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams to ensure a shared understanding of priorities and deliverables.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Use data analytics, user feedback, and market research to drive product and operational improvements.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and OKRs to track product performance and team efficiency.
  • Identify risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Product Management, or Technology Management (preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, operations, or software development leadership roles.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven experience managing cross-functional product teams, including product owners, architects, and project managers.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Lean product development methodologies.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and modern product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Aha!).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align product strategies with company goals.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML, IoT, or enterprise software solutions.
  • Management of 3rd party relationships (e.g., SoftServe, Canopy, Mender).

Preferred:

  • Background in software development, cloud platforms, or SaaS products.
  • Experience in scaling product and operational processes in a technology-driven organization.
  • MBA or equivalent experience in product strategy and business operations.
