  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Min 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of TROPOS, Q-Pulse, and Workbrain computer systems
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Interpret graphs and analyze temperature data.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic computer knowledge. Proficiency with Tropos, iFix, iPortal, Qpulse and Microsoft Office required. Ability to navigate and input into customer web based portals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Summary

Lead the Shipping and Receiving team to safely facilitate product shipments in-and-out of the location and our vendors through disciplined execution. Develop and execute a portfolio of projects to mitigate or eliminate environmental and safety risk, improve processes to improve first-pass-yield (FPY), increase departmental productivity, and reduce costs. Supervise and develop the Shipping and Receiving Team to be cross trained through all department functions in order to exceed all internal and external Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Create a proactive process driven culture with a 'win the day' mentality driven by metrics. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for execution of the daily, weekly, and monthly shipping plan.

    • Develop and maintain a culture that empowers all levels of the organization to deliver world class performance.
    • Lead the team to deliver sustained operational and cost improvements. Install an environment of empowerment and accountability.
    • Install a communication culture that provides meaningful daily feedback to the operators, supervisors, and managers on performance.
    • Deliver annual performance reviews that are aimed to challenge, develop, and grow employees.
    • Build and maintain succession plans for the entire department from the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor position down.
    • Interprets company policies and procedures for employees and enforces consistency and sustainability
  • Safety
    • Ensure the Shipping and Receiving culture is in alignment with how the Howmet corporation values safety.
    • Lead and support closure for Safety and Environmental investigations in the Shipping and Receiving Department
    • Maintain a safety improvement culture through operator identification of high risks and develop project plans to mitigate or eliminate the risks.
    • Enforce compliance to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Quality
    • Take accountability and own department procedures. Improve procedures as necessary.
    • Establish a 'Right by Me' departmental culture
    • Focus RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) to be process centered vs. operator focused.
    • Develop and improve standard procedures and standard work at levels in department.
    • Take part in cross functional teams to accomplish Manufacturing Quality objectives.
  • Throughput and Costs
    • Execute the daily, weekly, and monthly shipping plan to support exceeding the plant financial plan.
    • Manage shipping consumables, transportation costs, and labor to show month-over-month costs improvements.
    • Ensure production flow into Finished Goods is level and consistent and supports the shipping plan.
    • Develop and execute a strategic pipeline of projects that improves productivity, reduces cost, and manages working capital.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Managing the receipt of materials and vendor services.
    • Use basic data driven problem solving to be proactive and implement solutions before problems arise.
    • Actively work to eliminate non-value adding activities throughout the Shipping and Receiving Department that free up employee's time to focus on value adding.
    • Implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
