Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a contribution-motivated Project Engineer to join our Pulp & Paper Projects Group! This position is responsible for leading and supporting project teams to execute projects successfully, including the full lifecycle of a project from inception through startup.

This position is a home or Green Bay based position with up to 35% travel.

Our Team

The Georgia-Pacific Projects and Engineering Team consists of approximately 130 individuals across the United States. We are engineers, project managers, subject matter experts, and designers working with our 22 continuous manufacturing facilities to achieve one team, one vision, one result.

What You Will Do
  • Manage small- to medium-sized capital and expense projects.
  • Support project managers on medium- to large-sized capital projects.
  • Projects on paper machines and/or secondary fiber plants.
  • Project development, including scope development, engineering, estimating, schedule development, and funding requests.
  • Project execution, including detailed design, purchasing, construction management, and startup support.
  • Work with and through others, including equipment suppliers, engineering firms, construction contractors, etc. as a cohesive team focused on meeting project objectives.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience in project engineering or related field.
  • Able to travel up to 35%.


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Pulp and Paper experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.


For this role, we anticipate paying $90k - $120k per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
