Your JobGeorgia-Pacific is seeking to add an
IT Project Manager to our IT Team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading, organizing, and motivating project teams to successfully deliver IT projects for our customers. Projects will vary in complexity, size, scope, and methodology - traditional (waterfall), agile, and hybrid approaches are all utilized within the organization. The PM is accountable for all aspects of the project in a fast-paced environment focused on value contribution. Expectation is to manage 3-4 high visibility efforts in parallel.
Some after-hours or weekend work may be required. Minimal travel is expected (estimated 10% - 15%). Both will vary based on project needs.

Our TeamThis role is a key member of the IT Enterprise Project Management Organization (PMO) within the IT Business Office supporting all GP IT projects. We manage a wide portfolio of critical efforts supporting the needs of our businesses. We partner with our customers to define, execute, promote, and drive delivery utilizing best practices.
What You Will Do- Provide project leadership - drive all aspects of the project. Instill a sense of urgency, accountability, and challenge effectively where appropriate.
- Build preferred partnerships and interact with leaders at all levels of the organization - including both the business and IT.
- Be proactive and transparent. Manage scope, schedule, issues, risks, stakeholders, communications, and financials. Evaluate the project needs and determine the right execution methodology (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Learn new business processes and quickly understand project objectives, stakeholders, resources, and needs. Ensure success is defined and drive to that.
- Influence cross-functional team members and ensure they are held accountable for deliverables and expectations. Focus on the highest value goals and seek opportunities to
- Utilize best practices. Identify and enhance project management best practices within the organization.
- Leverage strong interpersonal skills to share knowledge and help foster growth by mentoring others within the team and the broader IT organization.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)- Experience leading application software development projects - including Traditional methodologies, Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and Hybrid
- Complete lifecycle experience managing multiple, concurrent IT projects from ideation to close
- Expertise in project management tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, or equivalent PM tools), and Microsoft Office Tools (MS Office, Teams, OneNote)
- Experience leading projects and presenting findings, reports, proposals, etc. to businesses and leadership
- Experience leading global, cross-functional teams in project development and implementation
- Experience analyzing project teams and logistical factors to determine the best methodology (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) for that team/project
What Will Put You Ahead- Experience working with large ERP's such as SAP, and INFOR.
- Experience in heavy Agile environments - blending delivery between project and product teams.
- Experience across a broad variety of IT areas - software development, integrations, CRM, business intelligence / advanced analytics, AI / ML, hardware, infrastructure.
- Manufacturing knowledge, especially in paper production or converting environments
- Experience working shop floor applications such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Procurement Systems, Data Historians, and Warehouse Management (WMS)
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Experience working in a PMO - maturing processes and mentoring peers.
- Experience managing capital projects
