Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring for Crane Operator - Sawmill to join our Lumber facility in Warrenton, GA!


Salary:

  • Our starting pay is $23.50/hr. or more depending on experience.
  • You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.


Shift:
  • 12 hours rotating shift (3-week repeating cycle as below)


Shift Hours: 5: 15 a.m. - 5: 30 p.m. or 5: 15pm - 5: 30am

• Work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (day)

• Off Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday

• Work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (night)

• Off Friday

• Work Saturday, Sunday, Monday (night)

• Off Tuesday, Wednesday

• Work Thursday, Friday (day)

• Off Saturday (repeat the cycle)

Our Team

What You Will Do
  • Safely operate bridge crane controls to unload incoming log trucks while working from elevated heights
  • Utilize all safety controls, to include "Stop, Think, and Ask" model
  • Ensure crane is not in operation when employees, drivers, or contractors are in the danger zone
  • Ensure environmental events are communicated quickly and clean up procedures are followed
  • Ensure inventory is correctly stacked and rotated as expected
  • Maintain clear and open communications with merchandiser operator and truck drivers to keep the mill efficient and productive
  • Ensure check sheets are filled out timely and log books updated; escalate issues through the proper leaders
  • Address minor equipment issues through repairs and adjustments
  • Assist coworkers or perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness expectations
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality expectations, to include break time compliance


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • 1 year of experience operating a log/bridge crane
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing environment.


What Will Put You Ahead
  • At least 1 years' experience in a quality control role.
  • Sawmill process knowledge
  • Lumber or wood products manufacturing experience
  • Experience performing machine maintenance
