Georgia-Pacific in Madison, GA is now hiring for a Facility Building and Grounds Associate. This position will be responsible for the upkeep, repair and maintenance of plant's buildings and properties.

Starting Pay: $24.00/hr

Shift: Day Shift Monday - Friday 6: 00am - 2: 00 pm

What You Will Do
  • Maintains and repairs to the plant's properties to include trash pickup, lawncare, weatherproofing and operating landscaping equipment.
  • Maintaining gardens and lawns, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, watering plants, installing sprinkler and irrigation systems, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching, and applying pesticides.
  • Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc.
  • Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment.
  • Operating and maintaining mobile equipment including but not limited to: riding lawn mower, skid steer, front end loader, fork lift, telehandler, etc.
  • Maintains and repairs to buildings, equipment, and properties to include light maintenance of HVAC systems, plumbing, and
  • Minor repair/ remodeling tasks including painting walls, repairs on masonry and roofing, plumbing repairs, replaces light bulbs and repairs light fixtures as needed.
  • Maintains, repairs, and requests all tools required for performing job duties as necessary.
  • Moving furniture, assembling furniture, assembling equipment or tools as directed. Moving parts and supplies through the mill as directed.
  • Prepares work orders after finishing each job for any follow-up or corrective actions from maintenance work required.

  • Other duties as assigned and/or filling in other B& G team roles as required.
  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
  • Working in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment to include extended periods of time in non-air conditioned or unheated areas.
  • Performing tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 10 (ten) hours a day.
  • Working safely, and adhering to all safety rules and regulations, including wearing and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • 1 or more years work experience in a facility buildings and grounds Maintenance role or similar experience.

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other PC-based production reporting systems applications
  • Previous industrial experience in heavy industry
