Your Job

As the Application Development Tech Lead for Georgia Pacific Building Products, you'll develop, enhance and manage a critical commodity trading platform for the organization. You will work closely with product teams in user story refinement, Team and prioritization activity. You will be responsible for tech design, architecture and framework refinement, tech design review and code review. You will work closely with a global team of engineers to provide guidance for implementation of scalable, maintainable, and sustainable design as part of their user stories. You will be focused on timely quality delivery to production. You'll be the technical go-to person for the team, serving as an escalation point for troubleshooting and problem solving. You might represent the development team in various forums within the organizations.

Our Team

Our team has started the activity to rebuild the trading platform for building products as part of our transformation journey. This is a critical multiyear program and currently in full swing.

What You Will Do

Responsibility Distribution:

  • 30% tech design, architecture, and framework refinement
  • 30% Coding and code review
  • 40% team/delivery management
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Build and develop application platform with right design consideration and quality coding practices for future sustainability.
  • Collaborate with global GP and vendor team members for design and development.
  • Gain maturity around application functional and business process knowledge to debug and address production issues in a responsive way.


Responsibilities:

  • Tech design, architecture, and framework refinement
  • Tech design review and code review
  • Coding complex foundational solution which can be leveraged by developers to scale further implementation.
  • Ensure workload balancing within the team along with work tracking, monitoring and review to achieve schedule and quality adherence using agile collaboration tools like ADO or JIRA or Rally.
  • Ensuing proper application logging during development using tools like Splunk/Dynatrace etc. for easy debugging
  • Building and maintaining git repository and CICD pipeline using tools like github
  • Direct and guide team around implementation in a highly integrating enterprise environment with multi stakeholder dependencies
  • Provide quick and responsive production support service to business.
  • Provide constructive feedback for team empowerment.
  • Represent team effectively in various forums.
  • Manage stakeholders with effective communication, messaging, and expectation setting.
  • Maintain and continuously build the knowledge base for future reference and sustainability.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • At least 5 years of application development experience and tech lead experience with UI development
  • Experience on application and responsive UI development using ReactJs, NodeJs, SQL queries and store procs.
  • Working knowledge around AWS services and understanding of application development in a cloud foundry platform


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Knowledge of application integration with SAP S4 Hana through Odata services
