JOB SUMMARY Foresite Group is excited to announce an opening for a CAD Drafter to join our dynamic and innovative team. This position will participate in a diverse range of land development projects. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced engineers and project managers to assist in the planning, design, and implementation of various civil engineering projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: Draw standard details, plans, and drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects. Draw maps, diagrams, and profiles, using cross-sections and surveys, to represent elevations, topographical contours, subsurface formations and structures. Convert detailed, initial designs into working documents using Civil3D. Use schematics, technical drawings, and property records to gather information. Analyze technical data, designs, or preliminary specifications. Interpret maps for construction or engineering projects. Draw sketches, layouts and drawings which are preliminarily prepared by others. Perform technical tasks which are routine or well-prescribed. Provide technical support for assigned projects, using Civil3D. Transform initial red-line designs into working documents (rough product design). Perform technical drafting support for assigned projects independently. Prepare utility, paving, grading, and drainage plans for commercial developments. Complete detailed drawings from sketches, plans specifications, and written and verbal instructions. Review engineering designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Assist in development of projects. Work with Engineers, Project Managers, and other personnel to define and implement CAD applications for given projects. Perform non-routine and complex assignments of substantial variety and complexity requiring the application of standard drawing techniques. Determine design criteria, drawing sequence, and presentation. Maintain accurate design standards and procedures in all assigned areas of work. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associates of Applied Technology or similar degree preferred; or equivalent technical experience Experience: 1-3 years' experience in civil engineering or related field. Skills: Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods. Knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD or Civil3D. Ability to manage important resources such as time and materials. Ability to analyze project needs and requirements to create a design. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
