Job Purpose The Shipping Lead will oversee and manage the shipping and logistics processes, ensuring that products are shipped efficiently, accurately, and on time.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead Efforts to Improve the Shipping Process - Continuously evaluate and improve shipping procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations, ultimately improving customer satisfaction.
Coordinate Shipping Operations - Oversee daily shipping activities, including the preparation, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Manage Shipping Staff - Supervise and train shipping department personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, efficiency, and productivity standards.
Optimize Shipping Processes - Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to increase operational efficiency.
Manage Shipping Supplies Inventory - Oversee inventory levels of shipping supplies (e.g., boxes, pallets, tape, labels) to ensure adequate stock and prevent shortages.
Ensure Inventory Discrepancies Are Addressed - Work closely with warehouse teams to identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies to maintain accurate stock records.
Coordinate with Carriers - Establish and maintain relationships with shipping carriers to negotiate rates, resolve issues, and ensure reliable service.
Ensure Compliance - Ensure all shipping activities comply with relevant regulations, including customs requirements and company policies.
Oversee Packaging Quality - Ensure that packaging meets quality standards to protect goods during transit, minimize damage, and adhere to branding and regulatory requirements.

QualificationsPreferred Education & Experience - High school diploma required; some college or advanced/technical degrees are preferred.
- Experience in a shipping/receiving and/or quality role within an organization is preferred.
Preferred Skills - Warehouse Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse environment.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret work instructions, technical specifications, and drawings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and PowerBI.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to product, labeling, part numbers, and process details.
- Forklift Operation: Ability to operate a forklift and order picker is preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills: Good listening skills and the ability to build strong relationships with all departments.
Working Conditions - Work is performed in a manufacturing/warehouse environment, with substantial interaction with employees from all departments.
Physical Requirements - The associate is regularly required to stand, talk, or hear, and view a computer monitor or video display.
- Frequent handling and reaching for products in the warehouse.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and distribution environment.
