Job Description
DuraTrench is hiring a Territory Sales Manager - New England in Dallas, GA. This is a full-time position.
The Opportunity DuraTrench is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to develop and grow sales of engineered trench drain, slot drain, floor drain, and utility trench systems within an assigned territory. This is not an order-taking position. Our strongest sales representatives get involved early, understand the project, identify the people influencing the decision, and help customers select the right solution. They can move comfortably between an engineer's office, a distributor counter, a contractor's bid room, an industrial facility, and an active jobsite. The right person will combine consultative selling, technical problem-solving, disciplined follow-up, and territory ownership. You do not need to arrive as a drainage expert, but you must be willing and able to learn technical products, read construction documents, retain what you are taught, and work independently. What You Will Do Develop relationships with engineers, architects, contractors, distributors, developers, facility owners, and other project stakeholders. Build a territory plan that creates new opportunities instead of relying solely on incoming quote requests. Conduct Lunch & Learns, product presentations, distributor visits, jobsite meetings, and end-user calls. Work with engineers and designers to identify drainage needs and influence product specifications early in the project. Review construction plans, specifications, schedules, and details to identify trench drain, slot drain, floor drain, and utility trench opportunities. Perform or support accurate material takeoffs and help customers develop appropriate product layouts. Interpret design intent--not simply quote the linear footage shown on a plan. Identify missing information, conflicting details, constructability concerns, installation risks, and opportunities for value engineering. Recommend products based on application requirements, load conditions, hydraulics, materials, installation conditions, maintenance needs, and project budget. Identify the key decision-makers on each opportunity and develop a clear pursuit strategy. Coordinate with inside sales, estimating, engineering, applications, customer service, and operations to move projects from specification through order and installation. Explain product features, installation requirements, lead times, and technical considerations clearly and accurately. Maintain accurate opportunity, activity, contact, and pipeline information in the company's sales system. Follow projects through the full sales cycle, including specification, bidding, quotation, follow-up, submittals, purchasing, delivery, and post-sale support. Respond to customer concerns and field issues with urgency, professionalism, and sound judgment. Meet defined expectations for sales activity, project development, pipeline growth, specifications, territory coverage, and revenue. What Success Looks Like A successful Territory Sales Manager: Creates demand instead of waiting for it. Develops business with engineers, contractors, distributors, and end users. Understands how a construction project moves from design through bidding, purchasing, installation, and closeout. Produces accurate work and requires less routine verification as experience grows. Learns from corrections and does not repeatedly make the same mistakes. Comes forward with a recommended solution and supporting reasoning--not simply a problem for someone else to solve. Maintains consistent prospecting and follow-up habits. Knows which projects matter, who controls the decision, and what must happen next. Becomes a trusted technical resource within the territory. Delivers measurable, sustained territory growth. Qualifications Three years of sales experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with relevant technical, construction, manufacturing, customer-facing, or business-development experience will also be considered. A bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred but not required. Equivalent education, industry knowledge, technical aptitude, or practical experience may be substituted. Experience in technical sales, construction products, engineered systems, industrial products, plumbing, civil construction, architectural products, or a related field is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, manage opportunities, and follow a multi-stage sales process. Ability or willingness to learn how to read construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project details. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to organize information, manage priorities, and follow opportunities over long sales cycles. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable presenting to both small groups and larger professional audiences. Able to discuss technical information with engineers while also communicating effectively with estimators, project managers, purchasing teams, superintendents, distributors, and installers. Self-directed, dependable, coachable, and accountable. Willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory. Proficiency with standard business technology and the discipline to maintain accurate CRM records. Valid driver's license and ability to visit offices, distribution locations, industrial facilities, and construction sites. Particularly Valuable Experience Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial: Trench drain, plumbing, civil drainage, water management, or related systems Construction-document review and material takeoffs Specification sales or engineering-firm development Industrial, commercial, municipal, or infrastructure construction Distributor and manufacturer-representative sales channels Jobsite support, product installation, or construction troubleshooting Engineered or configurable products requiring application-based selection About DuraTrench DuraTrench designs and manufactures drainage and utility-management systems for commercial, industrial, civil, plumbing, and architectural applications. Our product offering includes trench drains, slot drains, floor drains, utility trenches, frames, grates, and custom solutions for projects that cannot be adequately served by one-size-fits-all products. Our sales representatives are supported by experienced inside sales, engineering, applications, drafting, customer service, and manufacturing teams. We provide structured product and sales training, but we expect each territory manager to take ownership of learning the business and applying that knowledge in the field. Compensation and Benefits Base Salary + Commission. Training Salary Health, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefits Paid time off and holidays Company-provided product, technical, and sales training The compensation for this position is $75, 000 annually for year one (training year), and $45, 000 + commission after year 1. The posted range represents the expected earning potential for this position within the current organizational budget and market conditions. Apply Please submit your résumé along with a brief explanation of how you have developed business within a territory, influenced a project before the purchasing stage, or sold a technical product that required more than simply providing a price.
