Description:

Salary Range: $46, 441 - $74, 769

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Plans, organizes, and develops educational programming in assigned specialty; researches and develops curricula and presentations; prepares activities and audiovisual materials; secures locations and dates for programs; coordinates and schedules programs with participants; and sets-up for programs.

Delivers educational programs; conducts training and education programs in a variety of settings and for a variety of audiences, to include students, teachers, volunteer groups, neighborhood and community organizations, businesses, other County staff, and the general public; facilitates tours, workshops, contests, and special events; and responds to inquiries and follow-up questions related to educational topics.

Solicits and coordinates volunteers; explains and promotes volunteer programs; solicits volunteers; and schedules, trains, and assists volunteers in completing volunteer assignments.

Tracks educational program data; compiles data related to program participation, costs, and effectiveness is achieving desired objectives; conduct surveys to collect participant feedback; and prepares related reports.

Researches and stays abreast of changes in the assigned field/specialty.

Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures; receives and reviews various documentation, reports, or forms; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or ret

Communicates with department staff, supervisor, other employees, schools, community groups, volunteers, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.

Supplemental Duties:

Transporation of 4-H Youth adult clientele to events

Attend 4-H competitions, overnight camps, and other events

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a field of study directly related to the departmental mission required; three years of experience in training, communications, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in horticulture and agriculture
