Description:

Senior CNC Programmer

In this role, you’ll support, develop, and optimize machining processes for aerospace and industrial gas turbine components across NPI, Repair, and OEM programs. You’ll lead mid-sized technical projects, create and refine CNC programs, and use Lean thinking to improve quality, efficiency, and overall business performance.

This position blends hands-on CNC programming, deep manufacturing knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration—working both in the office and on the shop floor.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and optimize machining processes for new and repaired turbine, compressor, and stator components
  • Create CNC programs directly from CAD models and engineering drawings
  • Support fixture design, tooling selection, and process implementation
  • Prove out programs on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, lathes, mill/turn, grinders, and EDM equipment
  • Support first-article builds and ensure smooth transition to production
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and continuously improve cycle time, tool life, and process capability
  • Maintain controlled CNC programs and shop-level procedures
  • Build 3D models from blueprints to support programming and fixture design
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges
  • Present technical work to internal and external stakeholders

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in the Aerospace or Power Generation industry is preferred
  • 2-year Technical Diploma is preferred
  • Industry-recognized CNC or machining certifications a plus
  • Strong CAM 5-axis Mill programming experience, preferably using Siemens NX or GibbsCAM
  • Deep knowledge of machining methods, materials, tooling, and process optimization
  • Experience machining aerospace materials such as Nickel, Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum alloys
  • Ability to interpret GD& T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications
  • Solid understanding of gas turbine manufacturing processes and 3D CAD modeling
  • Experience with inspection methods such as CMM, laser/white-light scanning, and precision gages
  • Familiarity with Siemens Sinumerik, FANUC, and Heidenhain controls, macro programming, and probing (a plus)
  • Knowledge of FAA PMA and RS-DER requirements (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
