Primary Function

Ideal candidates will have previous experience in site infrastructure projects, observing contractor's construction activities, and reviewing work for compliance with drawings and specifications. Knowledge of, and ability to interpret, technical specifications, contract requirements, engineering drawings, and standard construction details are critical requirements of the position.

Primary Duties

  • Responsibilities will include observing that the work is completed in general accordance with the drawings and specifications, daily field reporting, tracking contractor's installed quantities, witnessing tests, documenting test results and serving as liaison between engineer and contractor.
  • Typical projects involve the construction of municipal water and wastewater utilities and master infrastructure using various construction methods, construction of water and wastewater treatment structures and equipment installation, as well as mechanical and structural rehabilitation's for residential subdivision projects as well as commercial projects.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred. Civil Engineering related coursework / certifications.
  • 10 years in the Construction field or Construction Management/Field Services.
  • Background in Texas Building Code structural and/or plumbing inspections preferred.
  • Background in structural, mechanical, and piping construction required.
  • Familiarization with local municipalities and their respective site development construction observation and construction completion certification requirements.
  • Working knowledge of ACAD is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
