Description:

Primary Responsibility:

Management of the US and foreign indirect tax compliance.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage the indirect tax function: Oversee property tax, sales and use tax, and some GST/VAT.
  • Coordinate with external consultants: Ensure timely filing of property tax returns, handle audit requests, and provide necessary documentation.
  • Maintain tax basis fixed asset system: Use SAP to manage and code depreciable assets correctly.
  • Budget and accruals: Prepare annual property tax budget and maintain proper accruals throughout the year.
  • Sales and use tax management: Prepare, review, and reconcile sales and use tax accruals; maintain Vertex software system.
  • Audit management: Coordinate company responses to audit requests and manage the audit process.
  • International tax support: Provide corporate-level support for VAT, transfer pricing, and other international tax issues.
  • Tax planning and research: Conduct tax research, provide tax planning and strategy for new deals, and ensure compliance with SOX 404 regulations.

What Experience and Education You Need:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, Masters in Tax, or other industry certification preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive tax experience, ideally in a public accounting firm or relevant private sector role.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in Property Tax, Sales and Use Tax, and Foreign GST/VAT taxes; experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, and Vertex.
  • Tax Planning and Strategy: Proven experience in tax planning and strategy.
  • Adaptability and Multi-tasking: Ability to perform well under pressure, maintain a positive attitude, and manage multiple responsibilities and projects effectively.
