Job Summary:

CERENOVUS a Johnson & Johnson company is recruiting for a Senior R& D Program Manager, located at it's Global Innovation Centre in Galway, Ireland.

The Senior R& D Program Manager provides over-arching program management leadership to new product development teams delivering technically challenging and complex neurovascular device development. Overall responsibility for governance of new development projects, working closely with cross functional partners and individual project leads to develop and implement systems for project planning and tracking, budget planning and management, resource allocation, management of key suppliers and project communication.

The responsibilities and the impact YOU will have:
  • Develop and manage project planning and reporting methodologies for entire Cerenovus R& D portfolio of projects throughout product lifecycle, from early concept development to sustaining and lifecycle management.
  • Working with cross functional partners and project leads, implement standardized methodology to determine risk-adjusted project timelines and milestones.
  • Identify opportunities and implement technology solutions for effective project management to drive efficiency in project delivery.
  • Consolidate reporting of progress against milestones and facilitate reporting to cross functional leadership team.
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly project review meetings and issue meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate and issue weekly project updates.
  • Facilitate decision making and foster a culture of action orientated meeting outcomes.
  • Capture and implement lessons learned across projects.
  • Track resource allocation across all functions to facilitate resource balancing, communicate conflicts, align on priorities, and highlight resource gaps.
  • Support annual product portfolio review process, developing high-level project plans and assumptions for new products under consideration.
  • Coordinate annual budget submissions for R& D department, and coordinate reviews with project leads and finance partners to track spending.
  • Foster a culture of innovation supporting physician visits, scientific research, and advanced development activities including idea disclosure and IP filing activity.
  • Lead staff as the need arises, including responsibility for goal setting and performance management.
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.
  • Support teamwork across the functions.
  • Provide project updates and present to executive leadership.
We would love to hear from YOU, if you have the following essential requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Honours degree in Engineering or Science (desired) with strong technical acumen,
  • Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) preferred.
  • Substantial experience in medical device industry with demonstrated track record leading R& D Programs.
Experience and skills:
  • Extensive Project Management experience with formal project management qualification desired.
  • Engage and motivate others; hold accountable for delivering on goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence team performance without direct reporting lines.
  • Decisive and action orientated.
  • Filter complex information in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Clear communicator with good judgement.
  • Effective negotiator.
  • Team player.
Location & Travel:
  • This role will be an onsite role based in Galway, Ireland with flexible work arrangements from time to time in agreement with management and per the J& J Flexible Work policy.
  • As part of a global company, travel will be required from time to time, up to 20%.
