Purpose of the role

The Laboratory Scientist will be part of the R& D team, an exciting group of engineers and scientists, dedicated to understanding unmet needs in neurovascular diseases such as stroke, and developing innovative device solutions to improve their treatment.

What to expect:

Responsible for overseeing daily lab operations including:

implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and quality control procedures

setting up and ensuring accurate maintenance of lab equipment

lab inventory, general ordering and shipments

Responsible for ensuring personal and lab compliance with all local and company regulations, policies and procedures relating to Environmental, Health, and Safety

Conducts internal testing to meet R& D needs in the development of devices for the treatment of neurovascular diseases, including writing test procedures, protocols, specifications, and reports

Responsible for working to project timelines, accurate completion of activities, ensuring project reviews are timely, while optimally communicating project updates, risks, and issues to management on a timely basis

Other duties as assigned or required

Who are we looking for?

Third level qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a laboratory setting or in the medical device industry

Experienced in working in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people to achieve results

Strong work ethic, creative problem solving, capable of working on own initiative

Results and deadline driven with an ability to prioritise multiple tasks and operate in a fast-paced environment

Data review and statistical methods skills

Development of in-vitro test methods for evaluation of medical devices

Formulation design and testing

Experience with testing of soft polymers/hydrogels
