Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Plan Community, is currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Housekeeping to work on a full-time basis. This individual is part of the leadership team and reports directly to the Executive Director. This position is responsible for directing the Housekeeping program to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of the community by performing duties personally or through subordinates. The overall responsibilities of this position make a significant impact upon the quality of our resident’s living experience.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

The Director of Housekeeping must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster and it’s communities, including:

  1. Supervises the staff which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, motivating, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal, managing policies and procedures to ensure achievement of the department’s goals.
  2. Manages and maintains housekeeping supply inventory for the department; including supply ordering. Interacts with vendors and suppliers.
  3. Performs regular inspections of resident and common areas for sanitation, order, safety, and comfortable environment.
  4. Prepares and plans the Housekeeping Dept's budget and submits to the Executive Director for review and approval.
  5. Coordinates cleaning and sanitation activities after a resident “move-out” or major renovation of a residential unit.
  6. Coordinates Housekeeping/Laundry services and activities with other related departments or residents.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification as Executive Housekeeper preferred.

Physical and Environmental Requirements: The physical activities of this position involve: Balancing, Kneeling, Reaching, Crouching, Pulling, Standing, Manual Dexterity, Pushing, Stooping, Grasping Lifting up to 40 lbs.

Sensory and communicative activities with or without prosthetics of this position are: Feeling, Smelling, Hearing, Speaking, Seeing

An individual in this position will be exposed to: Inside/Outside environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, respiratory infections

Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of this position
