JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Assisted Living supports the overall management and daily operations of the Assisted Living community, to include memory support at some communities, ensuring high-quality care and services for residents. This leadership role requires strong administrative and interpersonal skills to assist in overseeing resident care, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and program development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with
Westminster Services and its communities.

  1. Assist in managing all aspects of resident care and services in accordance with state regulations and community policies.
  2. Supervise, coach, and support team members to ensure compliance with key responsibilities including training, performance evaluation, and documentation. Foster a
    culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  3. Schedule and manage daily allotment of care hours: Per Patient Day (PPD)
  4. Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
  5. Monitor clinical documentation and ensure compliance with Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) regulations.
  6. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives (QAPI).
  7. Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  8. Assist with medication management oversight and coordination with pharmacy services.
  9. Support the Director in budget planning, staffing, and operational decision-making. Manage the department within operational and financial metrics to promote financial stewardship, high care standards, and resident satisfaction.
  10. Lead or assist in staff orientation and ongoing training programs.
  11. Ensure recreational, social, and wellness programs support residents’ physical and emotional well-being, in alignment with person-centered care principles.
  12. Facilitate emergency response planning and execution, including hurricane evacuations and other natural or man-made disasters.
  13. Serve as acting Director in the AL Director’s absence.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Licensure/Certification:

RN or LPN license in the State of Florida preferred.
CORE certified or eligible for CORE certification within 90 days.
Must be CPR Certified

Experience and Basic Knowledge:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in senior living, long-term care, or assisted living (preferred).
Strong knowledge of Florida assisted living regulations and standards.
Must be knowledgeable about memory support and Montessori programming at an assisted living level of living.
Proven leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Medical Requirements: Must be willing to receive the influenza (flu) vaccination during flu season annually.
