Description:
- Responsible for the oversight of all Estate landscaping, including the oversight of additional family and commercial business properties owned by the Estate Owners.
- Meet with the Estate Owners and Estate Manager to discuss their requirements, plans, and any upcoming projects.
- Collaborate with Estate Owners and designers to plan, create, and maintain outdoor spaces; select appropriate plants, trees, and shrubs based on climate and aesthetics; ensure good grass/turf practices, mowing, etc.
- Hire, train, and supervise landscaping crews or contractors; schedule and oversee daily work activities, project installations, and maintenance.
- Schedule and oversee regular, periodic, and seasonal maintenance and care of all properties; schedule and implement regular maintenance tasks such as pruning, irrigation, pest control, and coordinate lawn, pool, fountain, and lighting care, including sourcing vendors and ensuring best pricing.
- Develop and manage project budgets, purchase materials, and allocate resources like staff, equipment, and chemicals.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the electrical lighting aspects of the landscapes.
- Focus on equipment management by maintaining and repairing landscaping equipment to ensure it is in good working order and/or maintained by contractors.
- Handle landscaping construction, renovations, and ad-hoc projects as requested; including mapping out the projects, understanding the needed work and scope, and obtaining vendor bids to provide recommendations for the Owners' approval.
- Point of contact for contractors and external service providers and oversee all landscaping work performed on properties from start to finish.
- Prepare and maintain landscaping budgets for Estate Owners' approval; review, approve, and route invoices to Owners for payment related to ongoing management and maintenance of properties.
- Assist in managing and scheduling all landscaping staff; enforce established employee procedures, standards of appearance, work ethic, and appropriate behavior.
- Crosstrain crew members; address employee issues and coach, counsel, and discipline as appropriate for improved performance.
- A self-starter who maintains operations and maintenance files, updated vendor lists, property inspections, and project status' updates. "Hands-On" activities will be frequently needed.
- Observe and monitor employees and equipment to determine compliance with prescribed operating and safety standards.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task; properly follow all Company policies and OSHA/EPA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Perform projects and other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, kneel, walk, talk, see, hear, push, pull, climb, bend, and stoop. The employee frequently is required to stand, (for up to 8 eight hours), walk (occasionally on rough terrain/in varying weather conditions), climb, use manual dexterity to operate tools used in the course of work, hear sufficient to hear conversations in person, and via telephone and radio, and vision sufficient for distance sight and to read diagrams, computer screens, manual reports, rules, regulations, laws, and plans. The employee is occasionally required to reach, push, and pull with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Physical dexterity may involve stretching, proper placement of legs, and use of arms and hands in repetitive motions. The employee must be able to maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities occurring at the site, including the activities of other employees, and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
