Nemours is seeking a Transport Nurse Manager to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

The Clinical Manager is a clinical administrator with unit or department level span of influence requiring distinct clinical or academic expertise. The Clinical Manager shares the responsibility of the supervision and evaluation of associates and with the organizational structure and size of the unit(s), also has teaching responsibilities and may have direct patient care responsibilities.

Core accountabilities include (a) safety, quality, and risk; (b) patient and population health advocacy; (c) clinical care delivery and optimal patient outcomes; (d) healthy work environment; (e) strategic, financial, and human resource management; (f) legal and regulatory compliance; (g) networking, partnering, and collaboration; and (h) accountability/advocacy for associate; (i) associate education and competencies. Position Responsibilities
  • If Respiratory Therapist serving as Manager, Director of Nursing responsible for all aspects of nursing practice, education, competencies, accountability and professional development
  • Involved in quality, safety, patient experience outcomes; and helps plan, organize, and lead the delivery of patient care.
  • Accountability and supervision of all healthcare providers who deliver patient care in the clinical area
  • Recruitment and retention, coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, performance review, education, and professional development
  • Responsible for effective and efficient utilization of resources in daily management decisions, m onitoring expenses and compliance with budget
  • Maintains adequate coverage in the assigned clinical area and when necessary, provides justification for changes in staffing levels based on capacity and demand
  • Maintain educational resources within the department to assess, support, and advance clinical practice and offer programs to meet needs for all shifts
  • Responsible for training of new staff and ongoing training of existing staff through orientation, competencies, in-service/continuing education, career development & role transition, and research & scholarship
  • Identifies educational needs through assessments and analysis
  • Assures compliance with regulatory readiness agencies
  • Maintain current knowledge and competency in direct patient care
  • Comply with directive of Nursing Director on The Standards of Nursing Administration Practice


Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree - BSN required [from an accredited school of nursing], Master's Degree - MSN preferred [I n nursing leadership/management, policy, or administration preferred, from an accredited school of nursing]
  • Active Florida or multi-state RN license, required
  • Minimum of 5 years pediatric nursing experience
  • Previous management, leadership, and education experience preferred
  • Upon hire, the following are required:
    • American Heart Association BLS and PALS (except NICU)
    • NRP
    • ACLS
