Description:

Nemours is seeking a Leave of Absence Analyst in Orlando, Florida.

Primary Functions:
  • The Leave of Absence (LOA) Analysis is a subject matter expert who provides support for internal and external partners on leave of absence and accommodation processes. They resolve escalated leave situations and lead the interactive process to find reasonable accommodations under the ADA or other applicable laws. The Leave of Absence (LOA) Analyst will lead return to work efforts to get associates back to work at the earliest appropriate time consistent with an individual's strengths, abilities, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Serve as a liaison with the third-party leave administrator and Occupational Health and Safety Officer to coordinate work accommodations for workers compensation cases, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and under the general direction and guidance of the Leave Administration Manager.
  • This role will also be responsible for running reports and providing insights throughout data analytics, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to support business decisions.
  • This role will also be responsible for maintaining and updating the Nemours SharePoint site with all applicable leave of absence information, ensuring that all data is accurate and up to date.


  • Essential Functions:
    • Serve as the initial point of contact for vendor, manager, or associate escalations.
    • Lead facts finding of third-party challenges related to FMLA, ADAA and Workers Compensation.
    • Assist with questions regarding FMLA, ADA, PWFA, PUMP, PFML, Paid Parental Leave, Short-Term Disability and State PFML.
    • Continuously monitor and ensure compliance with various state leave laws and programs.
    • Assist in administration of the modified duty program, with primary focus on return from leave and reducing time loss.
    • Ensure workers' compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA, ADA, and workers' compensation laws. Communicate and coordinate with a variety of internal and external sources to achieve timely return to work dates and prompt resolution of the claims.
    • Process bi-weekly payroll to ensure associates on approved leave of absences are being paid appropriately to include Short-Term Disability (STD), Paid Parental Leave and State PFML payments. Review daily timekeeping files downloaded from third party administrator.
    • Collaborate with TPA, HR, payroll, and benefits teams to ensure seamless integration of leave-related matters, such as benefit continuation and pay adjustments and schedule related concerns.
    • Process and distribute weekly and monthly leave of absence reports.
    • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive employee information in a confidential manner
    • Strong problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, team environment
    • Willingness to embrace change, be flexible, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and assignments.
    • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize and effectively handle demands from multiple stakeholders.


    Requirements:
    • Bachelors degree required
    • Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) certification upon hire or within 90 days
    • Minimum 5 years of experience to include the coordination and administration of various leaves, FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, and accommodation requests required. Working knowledge of multi-state leave of absence laws and regulations.
