Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary safety lead for the facility, promoting a strong culture of safety at all levels of the organization
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, state safety guidelines, and Neenah Foundry corporate safety standards
  • Conduct comprehensive safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, and accident investigations to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Inspect machinery, equipment, and work areas to ensure the use of proper accident prevention devices and the presence of necessary fire prevention and first aid supplies
  • Observe employees and collaborate with supervisors to ensure consistent and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, respirators, and harnesses
  • Assist with testing and servicing of safety equipment and systems to ensure operational readiness
  • Partner with the Plant General Manager and supervisors to implement administrative or engineering controls that reduce or eliminate safety risks
  • Perform environmental testing (e.g., noise levels, air quality, and exposure to hazardous substances) in coordination with the Environmental Engineer
  • Facilitate, track, and deliver safety-related training, including new hire orientation and ongoing safety seminars
  • Demonstrate the proper use of safety equipment and lead interactive safety meetings and employee training sessions
  • Maintain accurate safety records, including incident logs, training documentation, injury reports, and compliance data
  • Conduct trend analyses, site inspections, and procedural reviews to drive continuous safety improvement
  • Investigate workplace incidents in collaboration with supervisors to identify root causes and integrate preventive measures into the safety program
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work processes with HR and leadership
  • Support emergency response planning, lead safety drills, and assist with regulatory inspections
  • Lead and coordinate the safety committee, ensuring alignment of safety practices across all departments and teams

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing safety role
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and best practices
  • Candidate Must Be Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with safety management systems and reporting
  • OSHA 30 Certification or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to influence positive change and build relationships at all levels
  • Must be flexible with work hours and able to support variable shifts as needed to meet operational and safety priorities.
