Description:

The Inventory Control Senior Analyst is responsible for optimizing inventory through efficient purchasing, analysis, and partnership with Commercial teams and Company management to reach targeted inventory turns. This role involves monitoring materials, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely availability of goods to support production or operational needs. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in inventory management, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will contribute to our company's success by influencing key financial and operational decisions through strategic inventory management. (This is meant to be a guide. Essential Position Functions:

Inventory Analysis and Optimization:
  • Collaborate with sales teams, operations, and management to align inventory levels with business needs
  • Develop and execute product forecasts based on production schedules and inventory levels
  • Analyze and report lead times, MOQs and safety stock variations to ensure buy accuracy
Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels to avoid overstock or stockouts while minimizing carrying costs
  • Evaluate inventory performance and improve inventory turns
  • Identify slow moving inventory in a timely manner and coordinate with sales, operations and management to create action plans that eliminate inventory risk
  • Generate reports on material planning, procurement activities, and cost-saving initiatives for management review
Purchase Order Management:
  • Utilize purchase planning tools, such as MRP, and align purchasing with material demand forecasts
  • Create and manage purchase orders in line with purchasing tool recommendations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budget constraints
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, monitor supplier performance, and address any supply-related issues
Cost & Quality Assurance:
  • Continuously analyze pricing trends, market conditions, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes
  • Work closely with operations and sales teams to ensure that incoming materials meet quality standards and specifications
  • Ensure all purchases and inventory management activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a procurement buyer, inventory management, or data analytics role. Experience in manufacturing or distribution is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MRP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with customers at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Well organized and self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently complete multiple time-sensitive tasks and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
