DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Use available tooling to ensure released code is in alignment with SRE (Site Reliability engineering) best practices including but not limited to through non-functional testing before code release to prod and ensuring observability and traceability recoverability aspects are baked in solution. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Present innovation ideas in hackathons, annual location events and do POCs to drive the ideas to realization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Solution Specialist, Lead Engineer or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Agile Methodology; Architected solutions that are highly performant, resilient, and self-healing; Designing, developing, and building microservices with Java11 which interact with Oracle 19c DB via Kerberos authentication and MQ; Kafka administration including setting up topic, consumer, and producer, monitoring various Kafka parameters; Utilizing Container orchestration stack by using Kubernetes to deploy solutions and run Kubectl commands directly from console addressing production issues relating to pod scheduling, network policy, resource limits and heap memory issues; Deploying code to production and lower environment via CI/CD pipelines; running Maven commands to build and deploy solutions; writing SQL, developing stored procs, creating tables and other database objects associated with Oracle backend; Git commands from command line; Java11 or higher version; Spring boot framework including using Spring-boot Actuator for health check and setting up rest controller and configuring logging using log4j; Spring data JPA and JDBC template; Writing testcases with Junit and Mokito to perform unit testing; non- functional testing; XML and JSON data formats; this position also requires knowledge of payments processing, payment investigation, and financial systems.
