DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Participate in design and develop scalable and resilient systems to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams. Design and write unit test code to confirm software modules are of the highest quality. Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Create secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications. Accountable for ensuring design constraints meet by software code development. Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any field), computer science, information technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Senior Technical Lead, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Waterfall SDLC; SQL; VSAM; DB2; Functional Testing; Manual Testing; Regression Testing; System Integration Testing; Unit Testing; IBM-Z/OS COBOL; CICS; JCL; BMS Maps; REXX; mainframe application development suite; DB2 performance tuning; FTP/NDM/File-Mover; CA-7; IBM Utilities; Intertest; File Aid; and TSO/ISPF/SDSF.
