Description:
Position Summary:
The Leadership & Character Development Coach will be supporting our student athletes across campus to cultivate long-term development in leadership and character.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the Leadership & Character Development Department in designing, delivering, and review of our comprehensive leadership and character-development program.
- Implementing and enhancing our 10-month evidence-based curriculum with full-time students for a variety of sports, ages, and levels that is impactful.
- Implementing and enhancing our 2-month evidence-based summer curriculum that is engaging and impactful.
- Delivering curriculum in a highly creative, interactive, experiential, and dynamic fashion.
- Contributing to enhancing IMG's reputation in youth leadership and character -development.
- Supporting and adding to the department's vision by identifying and integrating best practices in leadership and captain training and character-development.
- Accounting for diversity and delivering culturally appropriate and inclusive leadership & character development content.
- Supporting the director and assistant directors of leadership & character development with the overall management of the department team to include, but not limited to: Curriculum management, captain’s training, professional development of staff internally, training of coaches externally, business proposals, and quality assurance.
- Engaging in live-coaching and interaction in the sport environment at practices, competitions, and around campus.
- Working closely with sport coaches to implement the curriculum that best supports the growth of athletes.
- Collaborating with other departments/colleagues across campus
- Presenting on topics of character and leadership with other departments on campus as requested
- Supporting Coach or Parent Education opportunities on a variety of evidence-based leadership and character development topics.
- Supporting the build out and delivery of the first IMGA Leadership & Character Development Conference on IMGA’s campus.
- Flexible schedule that includes one night program per week, as well as select weekend events.
- The position may have opportunities to travel with teams to support athletes and coaches.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Education, Character Development, Leadership, or related field.
- Knowledge of leadership and character development/positive youth development research and best practice.
- Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of youth.
- Cultivator of cultures of excellence through communication, attention to detail, proactiveness, and accountability.
- Supports, guides, and creates buy-in for the Student Life and IMGA Vision, Mission, and Objectives.
- Track record for mentoring (youth athletes and colleagues).
- Experience presenting with confidence to corporate groups or adult clients (e.g., seasoned sport coaches and educators).
- The ability to connect well with youth, middle school, and high school athletes.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (e.g., students, parents, colleagues, administrators, coaches).
- Excellent time management, adaptability, and flexibility.
- Strong communicator: Excellent written, verbal presentation, and communication skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences.
- Ability to execute projects delegated by the director or assistant directors of the department that involve complexities (e.g., student confidentiality, time-sensitive, upward collaboration across other departments).
- Sound judgement and decision-making.
- Highly organized and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced organization.
- Confident and open and responsive to feedback.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Proficient in Power Point, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Education, Character Development, Servant Leadership, or related field in youth development.
- Youth mentoring experience
- Familiarity with international/multicultural youth dynamics.
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Bilingual
