MAINTENANCE PROJECTS TECHNICIAN II


GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the general direction of a Projects Supervisor, the Maintenance Projects Technician II performs skilled maintenance work across various disciplines with a strong emphasis on electrical tasks related to building construction, maintenance, and repairs across various trades, including plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry. The Projects Technician II oversees the erection of small structures, performing complex alterations, creating electrical drawings for project planning, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining an adequate stock of building materials for ongoing projects.

This position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of our 24/7 operations.

Requires availability for emergency call-in.

COMPENSATION: $22.82 and up based on experience

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees and participates in the erection structures and executes alterations, repairs, and maintenance work across various trades.
  • Creates detailed electrical drawings and sketches for project planning and as-built documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Performs commercial and industrial electrical duties related to remodeling, buildouts, and installations to enhance facility functionality.
  • Ensures compliance with the National Electrical Code in all electrical assignments and installations.
  • Installs conduit and wiring according to professional standards to ensure safe and effective electrical systems.
  • Monitors and inspects work activities to ensure quality standards and compliance with specifications.
  • Conducts routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify maintenance needs and ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks to ensure a safe working environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting potential hazards.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of the position.

REQUIRED FOR ALL HCAA JOBS

  • In the event of an emergency or disaster that impacts the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA), an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee’s department or the HCAA Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Such assignments may be before, during, or after the emergency/disaster.
  • Complies with all HCAA Policies, Procedures, and Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS)

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Three (3) years of experience as an electrician, or related work.

· Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

· Must possess a valid Florida Driver License.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of procedures and techniques utilized in various construction trades, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety regulations to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside the Authority.
  • Ability to handle restricted, sensitive, and confidential information.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service, serve the public, and represent the Authority with courtesy and professionalism.
