Description:
The AOC Dispatcher II plays a critical role within the Airport Operations Center (AOC) team, which is dedicated to ensuring efficient airport operations, public safety, and security in both the airport and its surrounding areas, 24 hours a day. The AOC Dispatcher II is responsible for responding to customer service inquiries via telephone, providing information and paging services to customers. This role requires the processing of sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. The Dispatcher will also dispatch multi-departmental responders through radio communication as necessary. Additionally, the position involves the operation and monitoring of various systems, including access control, fire alarms, shuttle maintenance, dynamic message signs (DMS), and lightning detection systems. The Dispatcher must effectively convey essential information to airport personnel and the public, ensuring clarity and accuracy, while also maintaining precise records to support operational activities and assist the airport operations teams.
This position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of our 24/7 operations.
Requires availability for emergency call-in.

COMPENSATION: $23.40 - $26.64 Based on Experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitors airport audio and video communication systems via multiple resources.
Receives incoming calls for assistance, make inquiries to solicit relevant information, and assess information to determine the nature and urgency of calls for assistance.
Receives emergency and non-emergency calls from the Air Traffic Controllers in the Tower reporting aircraft and/or airfield incidents.
Enters airport operations related information into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and redirects calls to specific or alternate responding agencies or departments.
Dispatches emergency response personnel using digital and analog voice communications equipment.
Initiates callbacks to obtain or provide additional information
Operates various computer systems and programs, including aviation-specific systems, airport facility systems and equipment, security alarm systems, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems.
Activates the Authority emergency communication notification system to notify tenants and authorities of emergencies, impending severe weather, and other critical airport operations impacts.
Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of the position.

COMPETENCIES
REQUIRED FOR ALL HCAA JOBS
QUALIFATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years’ experience in a Public Safety or Operations dispatch center or related field.
Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess a valid Florida Driver License.

Knowledge of CJIS Security Clearance Expectations within the communications center.
Ability to handle restricted, sensitive, and confidential information.
Knowledge of the Airport Operations Center regulations, standard operating procedures and airport operations related to the area of assignment.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside the Authority.
Ability to provide outstanding customer service, serve the public, and represent the Authority with courtesy and professionalism.
