Overview

We are seeking a full-time Configuration Control Specialist 2 in our Miramar, FL location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and/or leading tasks to maintain the configuration of Garmin's systems and products by documenting, tracking and controlling changes throughout the product life cycle to develop gap analysis, identify process improvements, and align Garmin's quality system to the constant changing business requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Working knowledge of the following:
    • Product Lifecycle Management
    • ERP software
    • Inventory and Forecast Planning
    • Engineering Change Orders
    • Bill of Materials structures
    • Logistics and Distribution
  • Ability to use and apply departmental tools in programs such as Excel and Qlik
  • Demonstrates leadership in process improvements and brings new ideas for consideration
  • Builds relationships with internal customers and partners with team members on complex tasks
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate at a high level with teams across varied disciplines
  • Uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes
  • Applies an understanding of operations, production and inventory process definitions to daily activities
  • Provides guidance to other departments regarding standard practices and expectations
  • Able to work with others toward a common goal and encourage a positive atmosphere
  • Demonstrates good judgment in prioritizing tasks, setting schedules and risk taking
MIRAMAR SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
  • Manages and performs item master and ECO (Engineering Change Order) coordination activities
  • Reviews ECOs at Board step for implementation actions including updating BOMs and effective dates in Garmin ERP system
  • Cooperates with various functions to identify and implement system and process improvement opportunities to enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Prepares and publishes quality system procedures
  • Prepares and performs system/process audits utilizing established procedures and policies both individually and in cooperation with other audit team members
  • Maintains confidentiality of product and process specifications, performance analysis, and operational conditions
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Project lead for small projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills
  • Solid understanding of parts drawings and implementing changes within a quality system by using Product Lifecycle Management Software such as Agile or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain, manufacturing processes and ERP system
Desirable Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years experience in developing, implementing and following formal procedures and work instructions relevant to Garmin's business needs
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years work experience working with ISO9001 or similar standards
  • Detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
