What You'll Do:
Responsible for performing functions related to the administrative and/or operating payrolls in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize an integrated client-server HR/PR system to manage payroll functions.
• Perform time entry and verify employee leave and accrual balances.
• Create and update employee tax information and verify pay rates.
• Review system edits and ensure accurate production and processing of assigned payrolls.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of union contracts to support payroll compliance.
• Prepare union benefit payments and other third-party remittances.
• Provide high-level customer service by responding to payroll inquiries via phone.
• Research and resolve payroll processing errors in a timely and professional manner.Education & Credentials:
• High school diploma or equivalent, plus job related course work after high school.
Experience:
• 1 - 2 years of general accounting and related financial experience.
• 1 - 3 years of payroll experience utilizing a mainframe or client server-based system strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
Competencies:
• Proficiency in managing high-volume payroll processing for 300-500 employees across multiple pay cycles with accuracy and efficiency.
• Effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptability to shift priorities, dynamic work environments, and evolving business needs.
• Aptitude for collaborating with various business units to align goals and ensure operational success.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
