Coke Florida is searching for an In-House Counsel, Legal to work out of our Tampa HQ area office.What you will do: Be a member of a dynamic, fun, supportive and talented in-house legal team with a wide range of experience and capabilities
Roles and Responsibilities may include: - Drafting, negotiating, interpreting, and enforcing commercial contracts of all types, including customer and supplier contracts of all types
- Dispute management, including relating to contract relationships
- Management of litigation and working with cross-functional partner on certain pre-suit tort and contract matters, including supervising outside counsel in the management of the claim, assisting outside counsel in responding to discovery and reviewing pleadings, working collaboratively with outside counsel and internal cross-functional teams on strategic and complex legal and business decisions with a goal of minimizing liability and promoting the company's strategic plan, advising internal stakeholders on risks and recommending strategies for each case, and attending depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials and other proceedings as needed
- Responding to third party subpoenas
- Overseeing drafting and implementation of company legal holds
- Developing and improving templates, processes, and tools
- Developing and conducting legal training to business associates on a variety of topics
For This Role, You Will Need: - Juris Doctor Degree
- Admitted to the Florida bar and in good standing
- Approximately 3 years of attorney transactional experience and/or litigation experience
- Ability to draft, negotiate and interpret contracts, including to synthesize business terms and legal protections into contracts
- Knowledge of the proper content of contracts and ability to understand and evaluate provisions proposed by counterparties to determine which items are and are not acceptable to the company and ability to explain and discuss same with business and legal colleagues and determine course of action, and communicate same to counter-parties
- Knowledge of negotiation strategies and tactics, including the ability to apply appropriate strategies during negotiations
- Ability to understand the company's contractual relationships with customers, suppliers, and other parties, including knowledge of the implications that such relationships have on the company's strategic decision-making and freedom to act
- Ability to determine and understand the company's priorities, strategies, objectives, cultural norms, and risk tolerance, and to incorporate the information in making business and legal recommendations and decisions
- Ability to devise legal solutions that mitigate liability, costs, and negative publicity to acceptable levels
- Ability to conduct and analyze legal research to determine applicable legal principles, and apply such principles to the company's business and matters
- Ability to recognize and communicate material legal issues to internal stakeholders
- Knowledge of and ability to analyze effect of company policies on business activities
- Ability to anticipate and manage legal risks
- Experience with litigation in both state and federal courts in Florida
- Ability to develop and implement litigation strategies, including ability to spot larger issues and impacts to the business beyond the specific issues present in the claim being handled
- Ability to manage outside counsel and budget compliance
- Maintain professional demeanor and focus on objectives in confrontational negotiations
- Clearly and concisely articulate ideas, opinions, and information, in spoken and written form
- Ability to work effectively and autonomously
- Ability to adapt behavior in dealing with changing situations and people
- Ability to adjust priorities in response to unanticipated events
- Close attention to detail
- Ability to manage a variety of projects in an organized manner
