Description:

Position: Virtual Orthodontist – Palm Tree Dentistry (Florida)
Location: Semi-remote; requires occasional in-office visits

Overview:
The Virtual Orthodontist will evaluate patients using digital technologies to assess dental positions, orthodontic needs, and potential treatment outcomes. This doctor will collaborate with onsite dentists and staff to develop and oversee treatment plans, monitor progress throughout treatment, and ensure treatment objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

New Patient Evaluation (Virtual):

  • Review patient records from initial visits, including panoramic and cephalometric radiographs, intraoral and extraoral photos, 3D scans, and medical/dental history forms.

  • Document a comprehensive review using standardized forms.

  • Create a problem list and treatment objectives.

  • Develop treatment plans to achieve objectives and update the patient chart.

  • Communicate findings and any special considerations to the treatment coordinator.

Patient Office Visits (Hybrid – Virtual & Onsite as Needed):

  • Review records taken during office visits, including photos and radiographs.

  • Identify necessary treatment adjustments and provide guidance to the onsite dentist and staff.

  • Repeat this process at each visit until treatment objectives are met.

Patient Retention:

  • Provide recommendations for retention once treatment objectives are achieved to ensure retainers are fabricated and delivered appropriately.

  • Oversee the transition out of active orthodontic treatment, including debanding and collecting final records (panoramic/cephalometric radiographs, photos, 3D scans).

  • Monitor patients for 12 months post-treatment to ensure retention maintains desired outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed dentist in Florida (required).

  • Orthodontic experience with digital technologies and virtual patient management.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with onsite teams remotely.

  • Ability to attend periodic in-office visits as required for patient care and coordination.
