Description:

Brooks Rehabilitation is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Vice President of Finance. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing and advancing the financial operations of one of the nation’s leading rehabilitation providers. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, the VP of Finance will drive the continued success and growth of Brooks by refining financial processes, providing strategic financial guidance, and leading a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

As the VP of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing and strengthening the financial operations at Brooks, including:

  • Leading all accounting functions, payroll, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, capital assets, accounts payable, procurement, treasury, and financial reporting/planning/analysis.
  • Managing the annual fiscal year-end audit to ensure it is completed on time and without adjustments.
  • Overseeing payroll processing and ensuring timely, accurate payments, while ensuring compliance with federal and state payroll tax regulations.
  • Developing and mentoring a high-performing finance team while improving department processes and efficiency.
  • Managing the integrity of consolidated financial reporting, monthly variance reports, and internal financial statements by entity.
  • Producing internal financial reports, including monthly and annual reports, and identifying key variances.
  • Supporting business development and planning with pro formas for decision-making.
  • Coordinating with the VP of Revenue Cycle on accounts receivable reserves and patient account evaluation.
  • Reviewing Medicare/Medicaid cost reports and cost recovery computations in line with federal and state regulations.
  • Ensuring effective cash flow management and optimizing accounts payable to meet financial goals.
  • Leading the development of a flexible budgeting system tailored to volume-based financial planning.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory filings and overseeing the collection of financial survey data.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost containment and driving efficiency initiatives to meet financial objectives.
  • Managing the treasury function and investment portfolio, ensuring optimal financial resources are available for operational needs.
  • Overseeing the procurement process to ensure vendor compliance and appropriate stock levels.
  • Engaging and collaborating with senior executives, board members, and staff on financial reporting and analysis, ensuring smooth financial operations and appropriate controls.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a leader with strong financial acumen, excellent management skills, and a passion for healthcare. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Active CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • At least 8 years of progressive accounting and financial experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and generally accepted accounting standards.
  • Expertise in healthcare finance, reimbursement, and governmental programs is preferred.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to make strategic decisions based on financial insights.
  • A proven ability to work independently with accuracy, reliability, and sound judgment.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
