Description:

Provides senior level support to the managed care team and serves as a subject matter expert on a wide variety of concepts, practices and procedures necessary to meet the goals of the department. The Senior Payor Relations Analyst will work closely with the Director of Managed Care and will support the various aspects of complex negotiations. The Senior Payor Relations Analyst will be particularly focused on the management of contractual concerns of our hospital, ancillary and professional service lines with the most complex payor relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with payors to ensure successful reimbursement of products and services.
  • Serve as lead trainer and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders on complex claims issues, problem solving and payor relationship development.
  • Independently support the Managed Care department’s communications with credentialing, billing, practice management, business office and other departments for assigned payor relationships.
  • Negotiate contracts with payors to secure favorable reimbursement rates for company services.
  • Stay up to date on the ever-evolving healthcare payor landscape, identifying potential opportunities and challenges.
  • Create policy and procedures for process improvement opportunities within the Managed Care department.
  • Analyze payor policies and reimbursement trends to inform business decisions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payor relations, providing guidance and support to internal teams.
  • Proactively identify and address any issues or concerns raised by payors, working towards resolution.
  • Work directly and independently with payors to monitor progress on Joint Operating Committee meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; health focused degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payer relations, with a focus on contract negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of multiple reimbursement methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry structure.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer programs including Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret reimbursement information and salient terms from complex legal documents.
  • Ability to think analytically and logically.
  • Ability to present complex contract information in lay terms.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff at various levels both inside and outside of the Brooks Health System.

Location: ONSITE Brooks Inpatient Hospital at 3599 University Blvd South, Jacksonville, Florida

Hours: 40 hours per week
