We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable individual to join our physician practice. The Authorization Specialist will be responsible for managing insurance claims, verifying patient insurance coverage, and ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement processes. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our practice and providing excellent patient service.

Responsibilities:

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments and procedures.
• Assist with patient billing, including resolving discrepancies and communicating with insurance companies.
• Communicate with patients regarding their insurance coverage, billing inquiries, and payment options.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA and insurance policies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of insurance claims, patient interactions, and billing activities.
• Work closely with medical staff, billing department, and insurance companies to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Provide excellent customer service

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing and coding preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in insurance billing and claims management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, billing procedures, and medical terminology. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service.

Hours: 40 Hours per week, Hybrid (onsite and remote as applicable)
