Title: UX Developer Intern - Realtime 3D Applications

Arthrex is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedics medical education. With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1, 000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Medical Visualization team in Naples, Florida is responsible for developing interactive applications using emerging technologies for the purpose of educating and assisting surgeons, as well as visually communicating the science behind the medical technology created at Arthrex. We are searching for an intern pursuing a degree in UX Design, UX Research, Graphic Design, Engineering, Computer Science or Interactive Media to support the Medical Visualization team. A successful candidate will assist in the design and implementation of user interfaces in applications for marketing, upcoming products, and medical education. The individual will follow standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity and will take initiative to collaborate with team members effectively while following pre-established process flows.
This internship offers flexible start dates, with options to begin in either the spring (January-April) or summer (May-August). Spring interns may work a minimum of 20 hours per week, while summer interns are expected to work 40 hours per week. Main Objective: To gain real-world experience as a UX Developer for Realtime 3D Application in a corporate environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Design UX updates necessary for Arthroman v2 Software.
- Interpret user feedback into actionable improvement for the software interface.
- Design UX updates for OR Planner from user feedback.
- Setup and develop User Interfaces and UI tools in a Realtime Engine.
- Explore VR and AR technologies and assist in the development of refined user interfaces for applications.
- Refine existing designs to improve UX to implementation workflow.
Education and Experience: - Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in UX Design, Computer Science, Engineering, Interactive Media or Graphic Design. A college senior, graduate student or recent graduate required. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: - Proficiency with real-time engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity) required.
- Knowledge of 3D Graphics, UX Design, User Research, and Graphic Design preferred.
- Be able to follow written and verbal direction.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
