Arthrex is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedics medical education. With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1, 000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Imaging and Resection team (I& R) is actively searching for a Product Development Co-op to support the ongoing design and engineering activities for the I& R product portfolio. The ideal candidate will know SolidWorks or similar CAD software experience, understand engineering fundamentals, and have interpersonal skills. Our ideal candidate is a student of Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.

This Co-op will run from January 2026 - June 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

Co-op will work with the Imaging and Resection Engineering department to gain experience in research, design, testing, and manufacturing of medical devices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support our Shaver product line in developing and designing new products, testing fixtures and analyzing problems.
  • Utilize Solidworks modeling, including drawing prototype parts.
  • Design and print 3D test fixtures.
  • Supporting engineering documentation.
  • Analyze drawings and tolerances as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:
  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an engineering degree or a recent graduate within the last six months. Senior in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
    (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
  • Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0
  • Prior experience with CAD software, such as Solidworks, preferred.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements /Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing and possess the ability to work through technical issues

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation, mechanical testing equipment, PC, Creo or other 3D modeling software a plus.
