The Meetings & Events Intern is responsible for providing support to those directly planning, management and execution of meetings and events for Arthrex, Inc. including corporate medical education, sales education training, internal business, employee, and corporate engagement events. The successful candidate will support the daily events occurring at Arthrex's SWFL campus located in Naples, FL. The individual will perform tasks relating to event management, conference services, customer service, and hospitality that contribute to the goals and objectives of internal stakeholders and our mission. Additional event operations, medical device industry knowledge, and financial acumen will be gained through this internship. We are searching for a student pursuing a Resort & Hospitality Management degree to support the Meetings & Events team. To successfully execute the requirements of this internship, an individual must be able to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities while staying focused on the details.

This internship offers flexible start dates, with options to begin in either the spring (January-April) or summer (May-August). Spring interns may work a minimum of 20 hours per week, while summer interns are expected to work 40 hours per week.

Main Objective:

To learn about event management by supporting the Meetings & Events team with pre-planning, on-site execution, and post meeting responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support Meetings & Events Team with onsite execution of events including, but not limited to, name badges, liability/visitor agreements, onsite check-in, and set-up/dismantling.
  • Support event logistics including attendee management, coordination of food & beverage, audio/visual and travel.
  • Assist with invoicing, payments, and data entry as required.
  • Prepare and communicate meeting notes, survey results and budget reports to meeting planners and leadership team.
  • Monitor onsite event requests and provide customer service support to internal/external customers.
  • Attend and support off-site meetings/events such as charitable events, community events, or others as required.


Education and Experience:
  • Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Resort & Hospitality, Marketing or Communications. A college junior or above preferred. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
  • Customer service and/or event planning experience preferred.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
