Intertek's Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.

What are we looking for?

The Senior Project and BDM is a hybrid role responsible for managing building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and testing projects while supporting business development and client growth for BSS services. This position is expected to be initially split approximately 50/50 between project management and business development, with flexibility based on workload and business needs.

The role includes leading projects from planning through execution, overseeing schedules, budgets, and project teams, and delivering high-quality client reports and technical deliverables. In parallel, the position supports marketing, proposal development, and relationship-building efforts with clients, architects, engineers, and developers to expand service opportunities.

Shift/Schedule: Core business hours | This position will travel up to 25% of the time.

What you will do:
  • Provide building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and design and construction administrative services for new building projects, and enclosure investigations and assessments for existing buildings including remedial repair designs and construction administrative services when requested.
  • Manage testing, assessment, consulting and commissioning projects including monitoring contract requirements, planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, execution, and reporting.
  • Prepare professionally written deliverables, including proposals, technical report, design reviews, etc.
  • Participation in professional organizations, author papers, attend conferences, and/or perform work on technical committees
  • Provide business development, marketing, and sales efforts regarding BSS services for state of Florida.
  • Coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, owners, and developers, to develop BSS Commissioning, Consulting and Testing Services
  • Represent Intertek and contribute to knowledge base by attending/speaking at lunch and learn, seminar, industry groups and trade show events
  • Assist in preparing proposals, SOQ packages, and develop new business promptly to support the business

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • 5+ years' experience in Building Envelope consulting
  • 5+ years' experience in business development and estimating
  • Strong knowledge of the construction process

  • Strong knowledge of the Florida construction industry and trends
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
  • Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Ability to perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, roof levels, etc.
  • Technical competence and ability to effectively communicate with clients, designers, contractors, and coworkers, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to develop and maintain good rapport with clients, designers, contractors, etc.
  • Strong planning, time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet changing and strict deadlines/ budget restrictions when required

  • Sound computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time or more


Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a BE specialty (e.g. roofing)
  • Roofing and/or General Contractor Licensing
  • Knowledge of Building Envelope test methods and standards
  • AutoCad or Bluebeam experience
