Position Overview

We are seeking a Conflicts Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a legal or law department environment and a keen eye for detail. In this role, you will report to the Director of Conflicts and support the full conflicts process- perform computer database searches for related party and existing engagement information, compile and filter the information found; evaluate and clarify discrepancies; provide reports consolidating the information, maintain the integrity of the database and input general client information upon approval of new business.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct timely, accurate conflict searches for potential matters, new business, and new clients.
  • Review, analyze, and clarify search results; identify potential conflicts of interest and determine if ethical walls are needed.
  • Maintain and update the conflicts database, including adding synonyms and ensuring complete and accurate party names.
  • Research client or subject ownership and confirm information with submitters.
  • Follow departmental guidelines for conflict submissions and processes.
  • Communicate with attorneys and business representatives to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and clear conflicts.
  • Respond to questions related to conflicts issues and provide guidance where needed.
  • Perform corporate research on clients and related parties using appropriate search techniques.
  • Support occasional after-hours or weekend projects and participate in rotational on-call remote shifts.


Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in a legal or law department environment; conflicts experience preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with individuals at all levels of the firm.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of search terminology and Boolean search techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Customer service oriented, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Committed to compliance with ABA ethics mandates and firm risk management standards.

The salary range is $65, 000 - $80, 000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
