Sustainable Energy Analyst

Hybrid working; our office at One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle City Centre or Liverpool Street, London and from home

Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw)

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as Sustainable Energy Analyst and support us to deliver efficient and more affordable heating for our customers. As one of the largest housing associations in the UK, effective management of our Heat Networks and energy usage is integral to making Home Group a sustainable organisation. That’s why we need you!

You’ll collect, store and analyse energy data across our asset portfolio, providing regular reporting on performance to stakeholders and delivering energy improvement projects. You’ll guide customers, colleagues and partners to effectively manage Heat Networks and energy usage, benefiting people, profit and the planet! How amazing is that!

Typical day as Sustainable Energy Analyst

  • Ensuring our heat network billing and management data is collated, stored and managed in a secure and robust way. You’ll present information on usage in an understandable and practical way for a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promoting and engaging with customers, colleagues and partners on the importance of sustainable heating and energy usage. You’ll design and deliver engagement sessions that help inform and educate on its importance.
  • Supporting our Heat Networks Manager and Lead Sustainability Manager to develop key processes, provide information for regulatory returns and delivery of energy efficiency improvement projects.
  • Working with energy supplies for billing and collating management data. You’ll maintain our databases so we can report accurately on energy and carbon management.

You bring

  • Previous experience of working in energy, carbon or environmental management with a good working knowledge and experience of relevant legislation.
  • Experience of managing large, complex datasets and using Microsoft Excel to a high level to produce reports and recommendations for end users.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills, being able to engage with customers, consultants, and colleagues, to succeed in providing effective outcomes in energy measurement and improvement plans.
  • You’ll have an eye for detail, be a self-starter and be able to walk in our customers shoes and can work collaboratively to achieve our goals.

Job details

  • Full time, 37.5 hpw Monday to Friday. If you need to nip out to walk the dog or do the school run, we’re ok with that too!
  • Hybrid working, based from our office at One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle City Centre, from home and across our national property portfolio.
  • Full current driving licence and access to a vehicle for work. We’ll pay for your mileage.
  • Strong IT skills, able to analyse data, produce reports and complete regulatory returns.
