Lead Mental Health Support Worker

Farnborough, North Camp

Permanent, part time (30 hpw), working on a rota pattern

Pay £13.62 per hour (£25, 838 per annum, pro rata) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

As one of our Lead Support Workers, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex mental health needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. Typical day as a Mental Health Lead Support Worker (known by us as Support Coordinator)

  • Supporting working age adults with primary mental health needs and secondary needs of substance misuse, physical disability, learning disability and autism.
  • You will start your shift with a handover ensuring you have up to date information about our customers and any changes in presentation, risk etc.
  • You will manage your own diary and be responsible for completing support sessions focused on things like making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation when they are able.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
  • Cuppas, chats and catch ups. Plenty of time to collaborate with colleagues too and external agencies too.

You bring

  • Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working collaboratively with an eye for detail.
  • Experience of creating person-centred support plans and supporting colleagues in working to work to the plans.
  • Experience of coordinating and assessing customer referrals.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach

Job details

  • We aim to be flexible when agreeing a working pattern with our colleagues but we know for definite that you will be needed to work a mixture of earlies, lates, and your fair share of weekends and bank holidays.
  • Manage your own caseload and diary to suit the needs of customers on your caseload
  • Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
