Home Group is hiring a Positive Behaviour Support Team Leader in Broadstairs (37 Albion Road), ENG. This is a full-time position.

Pay £30, 000 (plus additional for on call) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw) including evening and weekend working. Regular on-call shifts and occasional travel across Kent for meetings.

Join us as a Positive Behaviour Support Team Leader, supporting our customer in his own home in Broadstairs. You’ll lead a small, experienced team who know him well.

AR is a gentleman in his 50s with complex mental health needs and atypical autism, as well as mobility and communication needs. He is supported 2: 1 at all times. He lives independently and thrives on routine, while enjoying outings, nostalgic music, films and playful interaction. He responds best to calm, kind and gentle people with a good sense of humour—bonus points if you support Tottenham!

You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, consistent environment for AR to thrive, while leading his team and ensuring day-to-day quality and compliance.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and manage a team of PBS Support Workers, providing strong leadership and supporting ongoing development

  • Ensure the service meets all organisational, regulatory and safe care standards, working with the Registered Manager to stay inspection-ready

  • Support the team to respond effectively to changing needs, stakeholder requests and safeguarding concerns

  • Plan and oversee complex support, including behaviours of concern and personal care, working with multi-disciplinary teams and the customer’s Deputy

  • Maintain regular communication with the Registered Manager, escalating issues where needed

  • Work with the in-house clinical team to promote best practice

  • Motivate, coach and support your team to improve satisfaction and retention

You’ll lead a dedicated team working with AR. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll be expected to continually promote excellence in care delivery. You'll get to develop your experience of team management within an established and supportive team. The role also provides direct care to the customer, so you're skills as a carer will also need to be tip-top.

You have

  • Experience working in CQC‑regulated services, with a Level 4 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it). We need you to be confident working in a regulated setting and able to work in line with CQC standards.

  • Background as a Senior Support Worker, Shift Leader, Team Leader or similar - supporting people with complex mental health needs. Ideally this would be in a community setting such as supported living. We are looking for someone with past experience of team management in the social care sector.

  • Calm, patient and adaptable approach, able to respond effectively to changing situations

  • Strong people‑management skills, motivating and guiding the team while promoting best practice and encouraging them to use their expertise

  • Ability to drive customers Motability vehicle

The practical bits

  • You will work 37.5 hours per week - 22.5 hours will be on rota (including evenings, weekends) providing direct support and 15 hours per week on your management functions.

  • You will be required to attend occasional meetings with other local managers in locations across Kent and occasionally to travel for training.

  • Able to use technology to update create and update support plans, communicate with colleagues and complete online learning.

  • We’ll make sure you have an induction with ongoing learning and support.

  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
