Housing Management Coordinator

Torquay and Exeter, with working from home possible for some hours.

Permanent, part time (22.5 hpw) to be set out over 5 days a week (Flexible hours available)

Pay £13.21 per hour (salary £25, 838 per year, pro rata) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management Coordinator to join our team here in South Devon. As our Housing and Property expert, you’ll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you’ll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to a secure, long-term accommodation!

Typical day as a Housing Management Coordinator

  • You would be working with our customers who are all adults with mental health issues. You'll be a part of their recovery and journey to independent living.
  • Making sure that our customers properties are homes they can be proud of, you’ll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
  • Help our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
  • Where there is a need, you’ll also issue and sign warning letters and notices which may lead to attending court.
  • Getting rooms ready for the next customers who needs our help and for maximum occupancy, you’ll turn around vacant or void rooms within set timescales.
  • Ensuring we are health and safety compliant and that maintenance standards are met.

You bring

  • Experience in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties.
  • Know-how of re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
  • Able to take on a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to your colleagues.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
  • A “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative.
  • Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners.

Job details

  • Flexible working hours
  • We'd expect you to work 5 days a week, but the hours worked are flexible.
  • Based at our services in Torquay and Exeter, you’ll spend some of your time travelling between the three properties.
  • Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups,
  • To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
