We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team as a Cook, where you’ll be responsible for all kitchen duties. You’ll be ordering the food, menu planning and ensuring all health & safety regulations are in place.

As our Cook, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all stock is recorded when received and expenditure records are maintained. You’ll plan and prepare all meals catering to our diverse customer group to ensure all meals suit a variety of dietary needs and cultures.

Typical day as a Cook

• Overseeing the management of the kitchen as directed by the service manager
• Serving our fantastic customers over the age of 55
• Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining adequate stocks of food
• Responsibility for the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, pantries etc.
• Maintain stock sheets and complete stock checks as and when required

You bring

• Previous experience in cooking/catering work.
• Good communication, interpersonal skills and an ability to keep calm under pressure.
• An understanding of the principles of confidentiality
• Flexibility and ability to relate to vulnerable people with sensitivity.

Job details

• You’ll work on a 4-week rolling rota with 4 shifts on and then 4 days off
• Your hours of work will be 08: 00 to 18: 30
• You’ll need a Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
