We have a brilliant job opportunity for you to join our CQC registered service in Solihull, which provides support to adults over 25 who have complex needs, including mental health and diagnosed or undiagnosed personality disorders.

Typical day as a Clinical Lead

  • As our Clinical Lead, you’ll lead on practice development to support our colleagues who in turn directly support our customers.
  • You’ll work closely with your team to embed core competencies as well as providing clinical supervision to the team and facilitating Reflective Practice sessions.
  • There’s no budget holding or line managing here - you’ll be primarily focused on enhancing colleagues’ knowledge and skills, and promoting regular, honest, and supportive feedback.
  • You’ll be supporting and developing the team to ensure that holistic, high quality personalised care is delivered which ensures safety, recovery, wellbeing, whilst maximising customers independence and improving outcomes.
  • You will also have the opportunity for professional study leave!

Fancy going home each day knowing that you have helped change our customers lives for the better? You’ll do that here, working for a top 10 Great Place to Work in the UK Employer!

You bring

  • You’ll be an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, with a current registration under the appropriate professional body
  • You’ll be able to evidence post registration experience of working in a psychological informed environment
  • You’ll have knowledge of mental health and various diagnosis, as well as neurodiversity, and you’re keen on updating your own knowledge and practice
  • You’ll bring a creative spark and ability to understand where our customers are in their lives, using evidence-based practice and your clinical skills.
  • You’ll be confident in the facilitation of reflective practice and understand the theories and models around this, and have a passion for coaching and mentoring teams
  • You’ll be able to work autonomously and on your own initiative, managing your diary based on the clinical need. What’s great is we’re all about work/life balance here!

Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.

Our team

You’ll join Greg our Clinical Practice Lead, who’ll be your line manager. Greg’s best friend is Rolo, his German Shepherd! You’ll also join a big team of supported living workers, 26 at the last count, including Alyssa who is the Registered Manager of our service.

You’ll join our expanding clinical team within the organisation, so you’ll have many peers to support and introduce to you to our Home Group approach. One colleague is Gemma, now our Clinical Practice Development Business Partner but who started in the Clinical Lead role and is a true example of how we ‘grow our own’ colleagues with development opportunities. Gemma’s take on the Clinical Lead role: “It really is as good as it looks! Your day is your own, you pick your own path”.

Job details

  • Flexible working hours (or we’re open to agreeing a work pattern with you)
  • You’ll manage your own diary, so if you need to work from home to take delivery of your new fridge or take a longer lunch for a haircut, you can use your flexi time to manage that!
  • This is a service based role and you’ll spend most of your time at Aviary House, with occasional working at home.
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
